Lauren Tuiskula, Softball Pitching Instructor

Lauren Tuiskula is a 2017 graduate of Amherst College. She currently works as a Post Baccalaureate Fellow in the Amherst College English department and enjoys offering private pitching and hitting lessons when she is not working at the college.

At Amherst, Lauren was a four-year member of the softball team, and was a captain in her senior year. Her primary position was pitcher, but she also played first base and outfield for the Mammoths. She earned NESCAC All-Academic team recognition in her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.

Lauren was a member of Amherst teams that made post-season appearances in her junior and senior seasons. In her senior year, the Mammoths finished second in the NESCAC, earned a NCAA tournament bid and eventually went on to finish fifth in all of Division III softball, advancing to the Division III College World Series held in Oklahoma City.

During her senior season, she was named First Team National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-New England, second team All-NESCAC, and the Most Valuable Player of the Amherst Super Regional tournament, leading the team that year with a .422 batting average and a .476 on base percentage.

Before Amherst, Lauren attended Leicester High School, and led the Wolverines to four consecutive post-season appearances, including a district championship in her sophomore season.

Lauren is excited to continue to be involved with the game of softball and help local athletes as they hone their skills and find their passion for the sport.
